Hello.

I opened this thread, so that I could ask my own questions regarding SEO, and if anyone else is interested they can participate...

I'm kind of confused about getting to the "top" (of Google, really). Let's say you opened up a site for articles on computer hardware (reviews on keyboards, mice, etc.). Now, what kind of keywords would you use? Alot of sites mention to use the Overture Keyword Tool, but I'm kind of confused on which keywords to use.

Let's say that you did go to Overture's Keyword Tool, and entered in 'Computer Reviews'. As of now, the top 5 are...

3845 computer review
2386 computer laptop review
2132 apple computer review
1799 computer notebook review
1231 computer hardware review

Are you supposed to choose something "popular" and specific? Such as.. Notebook reviews instead of the general term "Computer reviews" to get listed higher? Which one of these would you choose to be the <title> for your homepage? Would you use multiple keyword terms?

In addition, how would you populate your pages using the keywords? Use them in the headers (and do neat tricks like image replacements via CSS) ? If anyone could give me their input.. that would be great.

Or you could just actually care about the real content of your site and let the search engines go about their business without trying to cheat :roll:
