Just went to OfficeMax. They have the Sentry Fire-Safe Security Chest for $19.99 this week in their weekly ad. Staples has it for $29.99 - $10 rebate. Took the OfficeMax ad to Staples and did the 110% pricematch to make it $18.99 at Staples. Then the receipts began to print out, the silly Staples salesman gave me grief about the rebate + pricematch even though this is perfectly ok and ran off to get his manager. This makes it $8.99. In the meantime, I just grabbed my receipt, rebate form, and safe which I had just paid for (transaction legally complete at that point) and walked out the door. Your mileage may vary! Make them honor their policies!!!

Scoreadeal,

It looks like a good bargin, but I'm a bit confused. I see the OM ad with the $10 instant rebate, but where is the $10 mail in rebate from Staples? As far as I can see, there is no rebate for the Sentry 1100 Fire-Safe listed anywhere on the Staples site. Is the MIR part of the sale this week at Staples and the MIR will print out at the register? I guess if that is true, then there's the crux of the YMMV aspects of this deal.

Appreciate any feedback,

their policy is to PM before rebate prices and if their product has a rebate, the after rebate price is their price

No, they are not supposed to even factor in their own mail in rebate according their own policy...

---

How do Staples coupons and rebates contribute to the Staples price?

We?ll deduct any available Staples coupons and instant rebates (but not mail-in rebates) from the Staples price to arrive at a net price. For example, if you buy an item from us for $100 and we offer a $20 instant rebate, the net price is $80. If another company?s price is $80 or more, we will not match the price. Another example: if you buy an item from us for $159 and you have a $30 coupon, the net price is $129. If another company?s price is $125, your price match would be $4.40 (110% of the difference).

Have 2 of these... well, actually my parents do. I would say they are the best around for thier price. They also have a hole and a huge screw provided for you to bolt it down incase of theif as well as protection from fire.

Although, I will have the to say the key is a bit simple and generic
