Hi,
So the bulb in my outside sensor light went. I changed the bulb and ever since then it won't turn off. When the timer runs out and it's supposed to turn off it just dims slightly and starts to make a buzzing noise.
I've tried everything, I've turned it off at the breaker to try and reset it and still the problem persists, I played with the bulb to make sure it was connected properly. Eventually I thought it could be a problem with the bulb its self so I put another new bulb in. Hallelujah, this seemed to work. It was back to normal.... for a day. Then it went back to not turning off and buzzing.
Has anyone got any advice!?

What kind of bulb was in it before? Did you replace it with the same type (incandescent, CFL, LED)?

Sounds like a bulb that isn't fully electrically compatible with the sensor/switch setup. A lot of CFL lights don't like dimmer switches for instance, and many LEDs have fickle compatibility with dimmers, working fine on some but not others. How it delivers and modulates electricity will determine how well some bulbs with work with it.

Hmm I don't know what other bulbs to try. I did have to check the website I bought it from. But all the lights of that type on the website take the same kind of bulb. The only difference is the mm size.

This is a picture of the box it came in. It's too dark to get the bulb out of the light to take a picture of it atm.

Though I have just noticed that that is 80-100 watt. But surely that wouldn't effect the sensor? Just the brightness.

So the very first bulb, the one that was that working perfectly fine, was that the same exact bulb specs and brand as the two you tried recently?

I doubt brand as the first bulb came with the light. But the specs are the same so except perhaps the watt. But that wouldn't effect the sensor would it? Just the brightness.
