I just got a Sensi thermostat and encountered the following error:
Installation went ok. However, after connection all the wires and attaching the front plate, I noticed a few issues:
1. It defaults to "Heat" instead of OFF. I immediately set it to off then Cold - since this is summer.
2. After working for a few minutes, the room temperature display went out, replaced by horizontal dashes and in addition the screen said: "Call for Service".
As a result, I had to disconnect it and reconnect my old thermostat which works fine.
I will be calling them tomorrow, but am curious if anybody else has seen this? My old thermostat is back and working fine.

I would have disconnected it, then reconnected it to make sure all connections were solid.
Maybe you got a lemon. Return it and try another one.

I just saw this unit at HD the other day and I am very interested.
It has great reviews, and I am in the market for a wifi thermostat myself.

Call their help line. Many of the reviews on HD says they have great service.
