Hi people,

I've owned the 598 for a week or two now and bought a separate mic to go with it.
I'm very satisfied with the sound for both gaming and movies, only the separate mic cable is bothering me.
So i was thinking of buying the 360 as it has a built-in mic.
My question is if the sound signature of the 360 is the same as the 598?
I read that the signature of the 360 is more like the 558 which in its turn is similar to the 598, so i don't know.

Any one had any experience with both headphones?

Thanks on any advice!

I bought the PC 360 first and then ended up getting the HD 598s because I was unhappy with the sound stage of the PC360. I had problems determining directionality in games with virtual surround sound on the PC360s. I have seen the performance curves and they are meant to be very similar but my experience was that they really aren't for my use (gaming).

Thanks on your input m8.

Must say positional audio with the 598 is excellent but i don't use any surround.
I find surround generally distracting for positional audio although you can hear further.

Cheers,

I would stick with the 598 + a mic. Though, my mic choice was a table-sitting condenser, which works exceptionally well without strapping anything else to my head.

You could always sleeve the wires together down the length like you would with sleeving cables inside your case to pull the wires together.

What mic are you using? I'm 100% for headphones + mic. I don't think I'll ever go back to headset. I use headphones (sennheiser 650) with the logitech desktop usb mic. Sounds great and I don't have anything hanging in front of my face.

If I wanted an upgrade, i would grab the Blue Snowball or Blue snowball ice.
