Sennheiser Headphones 49.99 Free Shipping

A warning. Senn makes some great headphones. Senn also makes some unbelievably crappy headphones. Brand name isn't everything . . .

If your wondering, those headphones are ok for the price, but I would strongly suggest that you spend the extra $4 and get these if you insist on senns at that price range

This deal isn't even warm btw, you can find those everywhere for $50.

IMO,

Don't get those Sennheisers. The good Sennheisers are the HD580 and HD600 which will run you $150 - $225 if you find good deals.

At $50 there is 1 incredible choice the Sony MDR-V6 i think it's maybe $57 or so if you shop around

I need some good head phones bad, but these look just like the ones my friend got. If they are then the price is kinda steep. Cuz they are cheap and break easy.

I want some good headphones too. What do you guys suggest I buy? Price range around ~50$.

Grado SR-60's for open cans, Sony MDR-V6's for closed or gamers at this price range. Note that neither are really portable, and some people think the Grado's are FUGLY (or painful to wear).

I have a pair of Sony MDR-V6 and they are great. Great for gaming (esp games like CS). They were about $80 or so. I think they were $79.99 w/o tax at Frys. I bought them...about 1/2 a yr ago? It's been a while but I love them. The only negative thing about them is that your ears will start to hurt after a while. I usually take a quick break after every hour or two. They are closed so the sound can't escape and bother anyone.

Oh and if you are set on Sennheiser the HD495 are an awesome set. Sounds better than the Sony V6's which are awesome as well. But the Sony's are a closed set versus the open air Senn's. So if you can handle having some leakage I would get the 495 otherwise the V6's are really tough to beat.

>> heh you guys should spend $75 and get the sennheiser 280's, $99 for the sony 700's or $105 for the technics 1200a's

NO. If your willing to spend more, these are NOT the phones you should be going after. Especiallly the Sony's (ick)

How do the V6s compare to the Sony 7506s? I've not seen the 7506 for under $99 and I'm tired of waiting and hoping. Should I pick up the V6s?

The Sony MDR-V6 are amazing. I bought mine for around 80 about 4 years ago. If you can find it at 50-60, don't wait. get them.
I use them a lot for CS and at work, listening to music.

From my personal experience

If you want closed phones in the $100 range in order of preference:

Beyerdynamic DT250
Sennheiser 280pro
Sony V6 or V7506 (they are the same cans)

For open air phones on the cheap I must recommend the clip on Koss KSC35 at only $25. It sounds about as good as the Sennheiser 497 and depending on the listening condition, I prefer to use it over the Senn HD600.

I am looking for an inexpensive pair to listen to my dvd's at night, as to not impose on the wife and kids. Would any of these do the trick, or does anyone have any other suggestions?

thanks....

if you want to know more about headphones, go to the buying guide section of www.headphone.com
they really know what they are talking about and have the guide separated into different sections based on your price and usage.

Senn 497's are excellent headphones for the price. Sound quality is a toss up between those and the Grado SR-60's, but the Grados were uncomfortable for me to wear after about 10 minutes (they sort of pinch you).

You really should go with the 497's from etonics over the 477's. It's not even a contest sound-wise
