I am getting sick and tired of looking through fs forums and seeing people selling there USED hardware for the same or higher than what you can buy it for from venders BRAND NEW. dont get me wrong there a good one or two threads out of 20 that have fair prices. I think people should have to be around forums for awhile before they can post forsale .

The problem with that is that there are many lurkers who just don't post much. I have seen people who say they read the boards regularly and have been a registered member for a year or more, yet they have only made like 30 posts. Meanwhile, there are people who become Senior Members within a week of registering.

I just don't think post counts can be fairly used to determine any kind of eligibility to trade.

I'll have to agree, post counts are worthless in determining one's ability to trade.
With members getting their "Senior" in five days or less, it can't be used as a measure. :p

How about this if you want to sell something you must do a pricecheck first. you know Im not even gonna look in there anymore its big waste of time anyways weeding through all the greedy bastards. just tonight saw Tbird 1.3 for $360 shipped only took me 3 min to find that thread. owell guess there nothing to be done with people taking advantage of newbies who know no better.

I am also getting sick of people trying to make a profit off their used and out of date hardware.

/edit - I also don't like how it is taboo to post a warning when you notice this sort of thing. If people are selling things for terrible prices they should be told, in their thread if its for the greater good.

DO NOT post that in anyones thread. That is considered thread crapping and very rude. If you must then simply pm or email the seller in a polite manner.

Thanks,

But usually, threads with high prices die pretty fast. And even with self-bumping, nobody usually heeds much attention to high prices.

Another idea would be to have sellers post their prices in the title (if it's just a couple items FS).

Before anyone buys anything they should educate themselves.
They can go to pricewatch and find out real quick if a price is fair.

you really can't say someone can't sell just because their prices are bad. I mean it's suppose to be a For Sale Forum, not a place to buy stuff for WAY BELOW the prices elsewhere, though that is usually what happens and is very nice.

people are allowed to set whatever price they please, if you don't like the price leave the thread, don't whine about it just live with it, people do catch on and don't normally buy over-priced items.

This is the Issue People like Narzy think they can buy hardware use it for few months and sell it for what they paid Thats bullshit. these forums used to have alot more decent deals back when I first joined witch is way before most of you so you have not seen the changes. the issue is people are paying full price for used hardware and its hurting everyone else.

I'm not quite sure on how to respond to your accusation Mustanggt. I have never made a deal with you, and from what I remember selling on the FS/FT forum, I priced what I was selling VERY competitivly seeing that it was bought up in a matter of hours it must not have been all that overpriced,

I don't think you read my post correctly, what I am saying is that this is a FREE MARKET society, (atleast in the United States) People have the rignt to charge whatever they feel for whatever they are selling if you dont like it don't buy it, all you seem to be doing is whining about how you can't get a good deal. go whine somewhere else cause I can tell you your suggestion won't fly here.

I guess there nothing you can do about ASSholes in this world except kill em or avoid em.

You have at least a 1 week time out. Perhaps when you come back you'll be more respectfull of others and their opinions without having to resort to insults and threats.

DAM,
Mustanggt didn't need to go off on narzy in that manner.
He was simply stating his opinion.
I happen to agree with him. You can ask whatever you want for the items you're selling, and the buyer has the right to accept or refuse your price.
I know some set their prices a little high, because they know the lower they start, the lower the lowballer's start. :Q
If you set your prices to high, you won't sell anything. Then you'll either have to adjust or start buying storage. ;)
If you think someone's price's are out of line, tell them in a private message or an email. Just don't do it in their thread. :|

I am constantly amazed when peolple complain " it's cheaper here!" ANY ITEM is worth what someone else is willing to pay. If I am willing to pay full retail for a 2 year old item then that's my prorigitive. I CAN It's like buying stuff at JC penny when TJ Maxx has the same thing for 20% less. Now as for only Senior members being able to post in the FS/FT, Since when does postting on an internet board make you a) smarter or b) more honest. I am a member, just a member so I shouldn't be allowed to sell. That is absurd! And as far as making personal attacks on other members, there are always two ways to see who lost the arguement,

1) Reapeats orginal statement.
2) Personal attacks with no arguement.

I always enjoy a lively debate however calling some one obsene name only strengthens there point because you just proved you have none.

Cudos to the MODS for taking strict action, I am really impressed how well (and consistant) the moderators are here.

That is all continue on with your life now!
