Sendmail doesn't work on Redhat 8 server...

I setup Sendmail on my RH8 server at home it won't successfully send a message through Pine. I can use it as a SMTP server and send that way through a Windows client, but it won't send directly from the shell through pine.

Ohh, it won't let me login via POP3 or IMAP through a windows client either... it starts to check and eventually times out saying "Error reading from network. Cause: connection closed by foreign host." I made sure all POP and IMAP services are running at startup.

It recieves mail message fine from outside sources though, so it's not all bad. 🙂

Any ideas?

Sendmail has nothing to do with POP or IMAP, it's 100% smtp (well some UUCP if you need that, but I doubt it).
 
Well, I got the POP3 access fixed by forcing the reinstall of imap-2001a-15.i386.rpm, but IMAP still doesn't work.

I also still can't send mail through pine (or using the "mail" command), but I can use the server a SMTP to send messages to outside sources.... Any ideas?
 
Ok, I got squirrelmail working sorta... though it doesn't seem to connect upto the account correctly as it show nothing in the sent or inbox.

It's more difficult to explain it than it is to just fix it myself. Thanks for the help! 🙂
