Sending resume by e-mail

I send my resume to employers by email quite frequently. I have it in Word XP (.doc) and Adobe (.pdf) formats. Not knowing what they have to view it with, which format should I use? Or, maybe send both?

Send both, but make sure you save the word format as an older one (such as word 95).

I send mine in both usually.

Send both. Especially if you have non-standard fonts on the resume. A PDF will display it best.

The two reasons for a resume in DOC format:
1) resume filters scan docs for keywords.
2) contracting companies strip out your personal information and put in their own corporate header.
