Hi all,

I have had to re-install the BOINC client on my Vista machine. Don't know why the files disappeared.

Anyway, downloaded and installed the latest client - 5.10.45 and connected to RieselSieve.

After about 6 hours of processing, I saw that my stats where not good, so I checked the client. It had not updated the results - sent the work, but not updated. It is doing this all the time. I have looked for any setting that stop this, but have not found anything. Please help as I don't want to be physically sending the results all the time - turn around time is about 1 hour.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Click on the Advanced menu in the BOINC Manager and select the Preferences option. On the Network Usage tab, look for a box next to the words "Connect about every". That box tells BOINC how often to upload finished jobs and request new work. If you want it to connect every hour, set it to 0.04 days. I use 0.10 days (2.4 hours) but you can set it to anything that you want.

There are a few solutions for this kind of "problem":
1) set your queue to a very low value also the "additional work buffer" should be very low, this means it will request and send work more frequently
2) download an inofficial boinc version from crunc3r: http://calbe.dw70.de/boinc.html as far as I know they all report work immediately.

As a sidenote: the fast shutdown on vista produces computation errors in 45-50% of all restarts. I suggest to install the first boinc version that truely supports vista: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/b...8_windows_intelx86.exe
