I just got a Samsung 63" TV with 3 HDMI ports. What I would like is some device that I can send movies to in AVI format and then HDMI them to my big screen. Currently, I'm cutting DVD's which take too long and costly.
I saw this item on computer geeks:
Argosy HV358T Multimedia 3.5" USB 2.0 External SATA HDD Player w/HDMI - Play Videos/Music/Photo
The Argosy HV358T 3.5-inch USB 2.0 Mobile Video SATA Hard Drive Case Plus supports high definition video output (upscaling to 1080i) and supports a 3.5-inch SATA hard drive up to 1 TB (drive not included) so you can store massive amounts of digital content like movies, music, photos and more!
The Argosy HV358T plays back DVD folder, VCD, MPEG1, MPEG2, DivX/Xvid (AVI) movie files, MP3, WAM music files, and JPEG photo and graphic files. Use the Argosy HV358T to download video through your PC and immediately play it back on your TV! An included remote control helps keep things moving along smoothly!
Has anyone tried something like this? It sounds nice. In essence, I can Network RJ45 and send movies to this device, and then play it back through the HDMI to the TV.
