So here's the deal. I have never been able to send files with AIM. every time I want to send someone a file, I have to open trillian or gaim. I can recieve files from everyone, but I can't send them. I have to do a direct connect to send pictures, documents, music, etc. Why can I send with the other two, but not AIM, and how can I fix that?

I've had numerous problems and annoyances with AIM myself, although I stopped using it (and switched to gaim) some 3 years ago. Perhaps I'm biased, but from my standpoint, I think the answer is obvious:

Switch to gaim or trillian!

I have a lot of problems with files transfer with gaim. I don't think it can even be done...I'm using the windows version FYI. Why not just used rapidshare, or those other online file upload service?

check to see if AIM allowed by your firewall.. Trillian maybe allowed but not AIM
