What kind of power do they use in the Phillipines? 230 W, right?

Would it be best if the individual I'm sending the computer to get power cables and monitor herself?

I'll secure the case itself that's no problem, but would it be necessary to secure the innards of the pc?

Anything else I need to know before sending a pc over there?

I am not sure on the power ? but I would definately make sure everything inside is tight. Hopefully the person you are sending it to is somewhat computer literate sincethere is bound to be something come loose. I send my mom a pc last year and it would not pwr up. She sent it back and the back of the video card had poped out.

you got the voltage correct. power cables, if you are talking about psu cable they can use the one that came with the pc.
i know someone who has sent a PC there many times. just make sure everything is tight (like orion said) and you dont
have a monster (huge) hsf installed. :)

Thanks guys, but I am sending a palomino... I guess I'll just stick the stock heatsink and fan on there.

there's a huge chance that the heatsink might fall off of the clips. i've sent a computer from southern to northern california and it happened. just take all precautionary measures and hope for the best.

Use a heatsink that has a well designed and sturdy clip. It can be heavy, but some of those one-prong clips are simply not made well enough to withstand that kind of stress.
