Send Bank Account # Securely

I sold some gear to a friend in the UK. Turns out international checks can take months so I want him to wire my money.

It seems unwise to have my Bank Account # in plaintext on Gmail servers for all time, and Verizon seems to want me to sign up for a whole separate International Calling plan to call him.

Thoughts? Skype call the best option?

The "right" way is PGP in email, with some extension or add-on.

What about having your friend set up a Gmail account and call you with its Hangouts dialer? It should be free to both of you.

Bank account #?
Naw, I wouldn't do that (way too risky!), instead, I would get those Travelers checks from American Express (you don't have to actually have a AmEx card--they will charge a small fee) that they can cash pretty much the same day they get it. You can also get a AmEx (think Visa as well has it) gift card as well.

Second using Paypal for a Secure, Simple way to receive International Payment. The fees can be steep however. If you're just a regular user, it's Fixed Fee + International Percentage Fee, for which there's a Table here depending on the Country: https://www.paypal.com/vn/webapps/mpp/ua/useragreement-full#exhibit_A (You'd look up the percentage fee for the country you're receiving the money from + the Fixed Fee from the table below that and add them together).

If you're both into Crypto, then exchanging there may be the best way. But depending on "friendship" status, one or both of you may prefer Paypal's support system behind the money transfer.
