Hi;
Im behind a router with a static IP, i wanna be able to send and recieve large files between 2 pcs over the web.
I know mirc will work, but theres a potential hazard, and the person im trying to connect with is pretty illiterate.

I was hoping i could do some kind of ftp, but as i said im behinf a router, so my pcs ip is internal.

Set up an FTP server on your PC and forward ports 20 & 21 traffic to your machine in the router setup.

alternatively, you could install waste on your computers, and forward port 1337. That allows for 2 way browsing/sharing.

Just to let you know, I've had problems connecting to computers, both behind routers using FTP. Even if server has the proper port set and even DMZ enabled, it still wouldn't work.

As for your IP... http://www.whatismyip.com/ (simplest way)

For the simple way of enabling the person to connect to your FTP behind a router, just enable DMZ. A security hazard, but the easiest :)
