Go to any Circuit City store between December 1st and December 31st during regular store hours. You may videotape your holiday wishes and messages of support for all the extraordinary men and women serving overseas in the United States military.

Some of these messages will be broadcast on CBS network television. Copies will also be provided to the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service and the USO so that they may be shown to our military personnel abroad. USO offices around the world will have messages for soldiers to view anytime they come in.

For family members and close friends, your personal message will be recorded onto a DVD for you to send directly to your loved ones serving our country far from home.

We are proud to provide this service free of charge.

OperationDearAbby.Net (thanks Splinter)
Send a special message to our men and women in the military defending American freedom worldwide.

In 1967, Sgt. Billy Thompson wrote Abigail Van Buren asking for a Christmas present for our servicemembers -- "Just a letter from home," American citizens have been sending their best wishes to the troops every holiday season. "Operation Dear Abby," has brought joy to hundreds of thousands of U.S. military personnel deployed away from home and around the world.

Concerns about regular mail delivery have prompted the military to suspend the year's letter-writing campaign...

However, Dear Abby, the U.S. Department of Defense, and the U.S. Department of the Navy's LifeLines2000 Services Network in association with SPAWAR SCC (National Capital Region) is providing this private and secure online resource that will allow you to send a Sailor, Marine, Soldier, Airman, or Coast Guardsman a holiday greeting or message of support.

I just read about a couple women that videotaped a rather risque holiday greeting and were excused from the store. I wish I could see that. :)

i dont know how risque it could have got, the place where we do the msg, "stage" is in the front of the store next to the Customer Support counter. anyone needing help or wanting to return something would see.

Or in the center of the store where you wait to find someone that may even know something as simple as a price.

I am deployed in afghanistan and i think this is great from circuit city, unforunately there is no store even close to my wife to do this. It is however a great service they are doing, it means alot to service members over here when they get stuff like that from the states. It re-emphasises why we are over here for and lets us know that people do appreciate the sacrifices we make.

well when i refer to sacrifices I am refering to such things as deploying to Bosnia in 1997, 10 days after my first daughter was born, again deploying to bosnia 2 months after my second daughter was born in 1999, and deploying to Kuwait in 2001 45 days BEFORE my 3rd daughter was born, and now being deployed to Afghanistan. Everyone in the service makes sacrifices, I love my job too, i cant really think of any other job i would be doing than what I do now.

Coming from an Army soldier deployed in Afghanistan to all other service members, deployed or stateside, I salute you.

For those who enjoy the convenience of the net, Dear Abby has the same program (text only) available over the net...

Operation Dear Abby

So if you can't get to CC, you can still send a message.

they are risking their lives for corporateTrash bueraTrash to live better. not to defend the country

our bueraTrash would not send their own family members to defend this country, but they won't heistate to like me die

lay, skilling, fastow, rigas, sullivan, stewart, conway, ebbers should be on the front line defending this country
they benefitted so much all ready. screw million out of their hard earn $$$. still living the good life while others are struggling
