I wasn't aware that he was planning to retire. I live in Wisconsin and this is a surprise.

They aren't going to get shit done anyway with Obama winning in 2012.

Former Gov. Tommy Thompson should consider running.
If I lived in WI, I would vote for him over almost any other candidate.

I don't know enough about the political landscape of WI (other than they have a great governor) to know what the implications are. Is Kohl a moderate dim our completely insane Pelosi-style?

Wisconites got burned by electing Republicans (and your great governor) to total control last election cycle.

They say they will correct that mistake but we'll see.

If nothing else, Herb Kohl is now 76, he would be 84 if he sought and won another term.

As it we have too many overage senile politicians, therefore I think his own age had much to do with the kohl decisions.

This makes me feel real old because I still think of Kohl as the guy who replaced (the retiring) Bill Proxmire.

He's abandoning ship since Obama has been such a horrible failure.

BladeVenom will get his answer in 11/2012 when Herb Kohl is replaced by younger blood, be that victor be GOP or democrat.

But given the various Wisconsin recall elections, maybe BladeVenom may get a sneak peak answer, when earlier recall elections decide if Gov. Scott Walker will survive as Governor.

He survived for 8 years as County Executive in a MASSIVELY Democratic and minority county. I don't think he's going to have any problem in a 50/50 state as a whole.

The FNE statement means little, Walker may have raised little political ire until he got to be Governor and made it his mission from God to divide the State over public service Unions..

Ole Walker done made some very powerful enemies as well as alienating many voters, how it plays out is in the nearer term future because recall elections are well on the way. And ole Walker may very well may join in the fate of Grey Davis.
