Totally. The two are not at all equivalent. You can opt out of Google services, and there are plenty of alternatives. ISPs are wholly different. They are already heavily subsidized and regulated by the federal government, given exclusive licenses to spectra, and most small towns have only one provider.

I am open to discussing regulation of search services, but trying to give ISPs a pass by equating them with Google = fail.
