Being in our 20s, my wife and I top 250k and we are not wealthy. Why should I be taxed at the same rate as a 60 year old lawyer making $500k, with $15 million in real estate, $5 million in his 401k, and about to rake in social security?

Please dude, just stop. My wife and I are probably close to what you are. We live/work in an area probably just expensive as yours. Every year we fully fund both 401ks and still plow back a huge amount of money.

That's on top of paying 1.2k/mo for student loans.

So really, just stop. Your earning potential at where you are now and your savings potential, compounded over the next 30 years, puts you in the wealthy category.

You're either intellectually dishonest or you don't make nearly as much as you're saying.

And as far as nobody handing you anything. Society built an infrastructure for you to go to school, ply your trade, benefit from infrastructure, and have laws, cops, firemen, and a military to protect your wealth.

If you don't want that, then go try to replicate your way of life in Somalia.
