IIRC the wage parity is going into effect in 2011 when the old union contract expires, so the contention is basically 2009 vs 2011. Seems like a pretty minor concession for the UAW, but oh well, obviously they're not budging. Sounds like the Bush admin will help out the automakers, and worse case scenario for them would be Jan 20, as I'm sure assistance for the automakers would be Obama's #1 priority once he's sworn in.

Now that's just dishonest; both major candidates voted for the bailout, but it's possible that I voted for a 3rd party candidate :p
