So did you tell them they will have to pay more taxes and probably will have to wate 3 months for a doctor appointment if they can find a doctor who will accept these government late payments?

I'm sure they know about having to pay ever-increasing premium for less coverage, waiting weeks and months for insurance approval for life-saving procedures, and trying to find in-network doctors where there aren't any?

Did you tell them most people on medicaire need a secondary medical insurance to pay for what medicaire will not pay for?

This is different from private insurance how?

Then of course the States will also have to pay their portion and end up having to go into default. You need to investigate and research how medicaire works.

Wait.. what? Please clarify.

some sources do consider it single payer, but it seems to me that 'single payer as long as people don't opt for additional coverage and only for a fragment of the population' isn't a very rigorous definition. the whole benefit of single payer is paperwork reduction and so calling a system of multiple payers 'single payer' doesn't fit right.

True, it's not a single-payer by strict standards. However, this is compromise given to allow private plans to exist, since they do have merits as supplement. I'm sure it's also to give compromise to voters to assure that, no, the government isn't completely taking over your care.
