On a slightly similar note, I'd rather be patted down then go through an X-ray machine. I'm not a big fan of being fukashima'd.
Also, this.
I'll rather go through a full pat down than to go into one of those X-ray machines.

I've been told to go through them twice, and I rejected both times requesting a full pat down instead.
I'm more worried about getting radiation from those machines than a TSA employee touching my package.

Don't say anything about air ports there, fool. You're reading more then what's there. Just getting in and out of the houses of insession congress. ROTFLAAF

Fool

That is there to prevent stopping them getting there by any means. The senator was to vote today. This is clearly unconstituional. Think back in their time where a local, state or even executive branch could and would interfere with their travel.

Brilliant our founders were. That was put in to prevent abuses they had witnessed.

It's funny watching liberals try to defend stopping a vote they don't agree with. This is the mind of a liberal. The liberals who flee from a vote as we've seen at the state level.

This thread further exposes the mind of the liberal. It's funny if it weren't so sad at the same time.

He stopped himself from voting b/c of his inability to follow the rules and should resign. He is unfit for office. Hopefully, his constituents realize that he has failed them and if he doesn't resign, they elect him out of office.

I'd be very happy to return to the type of security we had in the early 60's.
Do you honestly think the actions of the TSA are keeping you safe?

I think the TSA keeps people safe-R. Not safe in an absolute sense.

I'm not fine with any government entity violating an individual's civil liberties. Obviously Ron and Rand Paul feel very differently. They would love to see a state government subject every citizen to a cavity search.

Right, which is why Obama and the Democrats in congress immediately changed TSAs SOP upon gaining control in 2008...

Face it schmuck, you're for the status quo as long as Democrats are at the helm. Cram your hope and change where the sun don't shine, because that's all it's good for.

I didn't realize that I was Obama or the Democrats in congress.

But their position isn't nearly as heinous as that of the Pauls, who do not believe in civil liberties.

I believe in civil liberties. Obama and the Democrats don't believe in it as much as me. And Ron Paul doesn't believe in civil liberties at all.

I have a tiger repellant rock I'd like to sell you. It won't keep you safe from tigers while you're in a tiger cage, but it will keep them away from you while you're at home. Trust me, you'll be safe-R.

So your opinion is that the TSA's policies have zero effect on safety.

How about the black rep or senator who assaulted police for not allowing her to pass? You must support that as well racist.

Sen rand Paul is not Ron Paul. Your hated blinds you.

Period in this thread of the mind and hypocrisy of the liberal. Watch it in action. This is the mind of a liberal, see how fucked up it is and just how dangerous it is. This is the mind of a liberal.

I think he did it to prove a point, when it comes to private property nothing is more rightly yours than your own body. These overreaching pat downs are a violation of our rights and are yet another slide down the slippery slope of guilty until proven innocent.

You have no right to travel aboard a commercial airline flight. Guilt or innocence isn't even in the picture -- there is no accusation of a crime, it is merely mechanistic procedure. If the government said you had to wear green and hop sixteen times on one foot before you were allowed aboard an airliner, you would have to wear green and hop sixteen times on one foot if you wished to use that form of transportation. If you did not wish to do so, you still have the option to charter a plane, drive, bike, walk, crawl, skip, or hop to your destination.

The government demands that you grant them permission to pat you down before they will grant you permission to get on an airliner. They haven't taken a single right. You do not have to grant permission -- the result simply being that you will not be granted permission to board the flight. You will turn around and go home with all your rights intact.

How about a senator traveling to office to vote?

If it was your road you stopped him on, that's serious crime.

Unless of course the mind of the liberal now suddenly is in love with promptly rights as long as it is to prevent those that disagree with the mind of the liberal.

I've got the liberal all figured out. This thread exposes them.

I know that this is about Rand Paul. He's very similar to his senile father.

Rand Paul is black? Crap! Stop being a lying moron. You only make yourself look like more of idiot and only make your case more idiotic.

Nothing you've posted in this thread is even correct. Keep on lying. Makes your party look even more stupid.

Again, he should resign. Unfit for office as he decided that he did not want to vote for his constituents.

Spidey: Thinking that everyone is as stupid and blind as him.

Seriously, dude, you're an idiot. You don't even realize that all you're doing is trying to preach to the choir there. You have no argument. No support. You say nothing.

Jesus Christ, your incompetence is total.

I'd like Rand Paul and the rest of those who think the TSA is being outrageous to provide us with THEIR blueprint for airport security.

Perhaps we can have two types of airports: Those with "Libertarian" security and those with today's version of TSA security. Travelers would be able to pick and choose which type of security they desired, and the prices they paid for tickets would - in part - reflect the overall cost (including blown-up planes) of maintaining that level of security.

I assume "Libertarian security" would have no scanning of bags or people, no pat-downs, no metal detectors, no restrictions on fluids carried through security, no restrictions on firearms or explosives, and no requirement that those going to the gate area even had to have boarding passes. Freedom, freedom! And I'm sure everyone in this thread decrying Rand Paul's "detainment" would happily board such flights.

I've taken Amtrak many times which is exactly like that and I've never been blown up. Either the terrorists are too stupid to go after soft targets like Amtrak or the threat is overblown.

My blueprint for airport security would be the same one Israel uses.
When last did a terrorist hijack an El-Al flight? December 1968.

You really think the American TSA system is safer than what Israel uses at Ben Gurion Airport?
I'm guessing you didn't see that 60 minutes(or some other program) where journalists snuck in with box cutters?
The American TSA system is nothing but a security theater joke. It creates the illusion that full security exists to it's citizens.

Passengers in Israel don't have to take off their shoes. How does Israel do it? Why haven't they had a problem with terrorist hijackings or hijacking from Jewish extremists?

America’s TSA system to me seems more to be preoccupied with political correctness rather than common sense.
-Why should a US Senator be on a "no-fly" list or have to go through an X-ray scanner?
-Why are 90-year-old passengers in the United States forced to endure the same passenger screening levels as their more youthful counterparts?
-Why is every airport in America treating passengers the same despite differing threat vectors?
-Why are pilots screened through checkpoints in the United States despite them already having control of the plane’s fate? o_O That's really odd.

There were several interesting documentaries about these I saw on The History Channel almost 5 years ago with interviews from both American TSA officials and those at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport. I wish I can find them now.

I almost fell off my computer chair when I saw that little 2 year old taking off her shoe at 3:01 in that video.

It seems to me that all you've said is that you wouldn't have passengers take off their shoes. But you haven't said what the Israeli's do. I'm guessing that Israeli's don't let passengers with firearms on airplanes. And I'm guessing they scan baggage and maybe people, too. And, yes, they do a lot of profiling. But the equal-protection clause of the U.S. Constitution may prevent similar measures on U.S. soil.

You didn't read my post after that one.
That post gives one a real life experience of what the Israelis do.

***EDIT***
Oh, and I don't buy that last part one bit.
