It looks exactly the same and we should support it because it's self-defense against naked aggression.
We can turn it around 180: The Palestinians exist in peace in their state, the Israelis belligerently claim all of Palestine as their own and refuse to acknowledge the existence of Palestine, and they keep sending in radicalized terrorists on suicide missions in order to try to win it. The Palestinians want to maintain peaceful relations with the moderate Jews so they handle the situation with kid gloves year after year. The radical Jews never give up, growing angrier and angrier that the Palestinians not only don't all lay down and die like they want them to but in fact prosper and grow while the Jews remain dirty and poor from their refusal to develop the civilian economy of Israel in favor of holding onto their hatred and continuing the violence. The Palestinians have enough of the attacks and start implementing security measures, making them more and more onerous in order to try to convince the Jews to stop. The Jews see these measures as simply additional reasons why the Palestinians must all die. The Jews get hold of rockets and start firing them into Palestinian villages.
Do the Palestinians have the right to bomb the fuck out of the Jews? Yup. Self defense. Do the Jews have the right to attack the Palestinians more? Nope. When the initial aggressor responds to defensive measures with more aggression, that's not self-defense.
Ignoring that they can do so at any time and haven't, and ignoring that they already had territories in their possession which they gave back.
Ah, the wondrously skewed view of a racist.
That's shameful. When I suggest that the Jewish state be held to the same standards as any other state, you claim I'm a racist.
You also refuse to acknowledge that there is no Palestinian State, that the West Bank & Gaza are under Israeli military jurisdiction & occupation to varying degrees. If Gaza were a State, for example, then Israel would have no right to blockage her ports & borders. Israel insists that they have that right nonetheless. If the West Bank were a State, the IDF wouldn't have checkpoints all over the place. I there were a Palestinian State, it would have defined borders.
Israel rules Palestine yet somehow creates the illusion that they don't. Pals are under occupation, subject to Israeli military law, and have been since 1973.
On the other side of it, Pals are fighting yesterday's battles, because Israel has made a Palestinian State impossible. They should be calling for full Israeli citizenship & equality under the Law, re-framing the argument into something that America can understand in sympathetic terms.
That's Zionists' worst nightmare.
