The senator argued for the creation of an across-the-board 10-percent cut in corporate taxes for American factories in order to retain and attract jobs that might otherwise go overseas.

wifey says "lets lower corporate tax rates to save the jobs lost by NAFTA"

WTF is Kerry gonna do if Bush supports Hillary's idea?
this is just to rich for words..

WTF is Kerry gonna do if Kerry doesn't support Hillary's idea?

Yeah its hilarious. Democrats in the past have decried corprate subsidies publicly, while supporting them privately. Yet another hypocritical stance by the dems. Even though Sen Clinton is just one, shes just a wee bit hypocritical herself.

I agree to a point. Rather than offer tax cuts to companies that manufacture in America, we should do away with all corporate welfare (e.g., tax breaks, federal loans, etc.) for companies that offshore American jobs. Let's make this revenue-positive instead of negative. If companies want to offshore, there's no reason we should pay them to do so.

I believe someone just introduced a bill to this effect. I'll post a link if I see it again.

Edit: here is a link to a new thread discussing the bill I mention above.

NAFTA isn't the problem. Last time I checked China and India were not part of Canada, US, or Mexico. If anything might be to blame, it would be the WTO.

Hillaries proposal is a conditional Tax Cut, not the unconditional Tax Cut given by Bush.

Tax cuts to help save jobs is a good idea.

Good goin Hillary.

Much smarter idea than tax cuts for the wealthy....who may or may not create a few low paying no benefit jobs.

LOL! so by making it more expensive for business to operate, no matter where they have manufacturing plants, it increases the bottom line for them to operate, what many libs cannot grasp is the fact that the CONSUMER always...ALYWAYS...carries the bottom line.

offering a corp. a tax break if they locate here or as incentive to stay here is a much better alternative than taxing them to death. giving an incentive alright to move rather than stay, which acheives rather the opposite of what is desired.

You do know that American consumers and American workers are the same people?
