I just saw a Fry's ad that claims Cool and Quiet for a Sempron 2600+ s754. I've also seen an advertisement elsewhere stating a Sempron 64 2800+ as having Cool and Quiet. That got me thinking... always a dangerous thing... the collective forum wisdom states that Cool and Quiet is present in socket 754 Sempron CPUs at 3000+ and higher, minus the original .13 micron 3100+ which I've personally verified does NOT have Cool and Quiet. Everytime I've seen it mentioned, people just state it as fact.
Is it a fact?
I've tried looking on AMDs site but they don't seem to advertise this particular feature with Semprons. Let's make a verified list of Semprons, stating whether or not they have Cool and Quiet. I would consider verification to be multiple first hand experience with being able to manually lower multiplier (through BIOS or software).
Please post first hand experience on whether or not a particular Sempron has Cool and Quiet. If you have experience and the chip is not verified on the list, please post with your experiences.
Semprons will be grouped by speed rating and stepping. I've listed every processor that AMD lists with a part number. Yes, some of these I do not recall seeing "in the wild" but they are listed just in case someone comes across them in a Compaq or something.
The 130nm chips are Paris core and the rest are Palermo (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
