Sempron64 to Athlon64?

So I bought a Sempron64 2600+ for use in my HTPC. It's speedy, but I want to switch cooling to a low noise solution. Since I use the machine strictly for DVDs and PVR duty, the CPU is a bit overkill. I would like to undervolt the processor, but my motherboard only allows undervolting for CPUs outside of the Sempron64 2x00 range. Is there ANY trick I can use to make my mobo think I am running something other than a 2600+?

Thanks!

For my socket 754 board, I use a zalman "fan mate 2" rpm adjuster, and it frequently runs at 0 rpms with cool and quiet enabled and the fanmate knob turned to the lowest setting. For voltage, cool and quiet runs it at about 1.0 volts and 1000 hertz (for an athlon 64 that normally runs at 1800). The fan mate series is about $6.

Maybe try a motherboard bios update?? All Sempron 64's are undervoltable.... only thing about 2600+ and 2500+ models is that they don't have Cool&Quiet...

heh oops:
It's an ASRock K8NF4-SATA2, if that matters.

the board detects what processor is running and limits its bios options appropriately. For sempron64/sempron 2x00+s, it disables voltage tweaks. (So the ASRock reps told me)
