I'm looking to get a Sempron Palermo w/ 754 Mobo on the cheap. Recently got some PNY PC3200 512MB CAS3(?) from Outpost.com that should be $8.99 AR... this is el cheapo RAM with BRAVO (huh?) chips on it.

Anyway, this ram doesn't seem to OC very well on my NForce2 system, so I was wondering if I'm going to run into the same problem using it in a OC'd Sempron/754 setup.

Thanks.

matter chipset/motherboard you get. Most like the nforce3 250 have memory dividers and that will allow you to use that ram. Without a mem divider, don't expect to get too much out of it.

You are using more than 1 stick of RAM on a s754 system so you may run into more problems overclocking than if you have a single 1gb stick.

reason I posted this to ask this question was because I experimented with the PNY ram today.. I set it to run at stock speeds and only changed multiplier but my xp 1800+ locked up and I had to clear cmos or would lock up after playing a MOHAA.

so i was wondering if i'd run into the same problem OCing a Sempron/754 combo.(like Chaintech VNF3-250 & 2800+) if I left the memory at default speeds and just OC'd the CPU. Hoping it won't result in the same problems as on my AN35N-Ultra (NF2) + xp 1800+ combo OCing.
