i cannot get the system stable at 1920mhz (240x8). im using a 1:2 divider on ram and it passed memtest 1:1 so i know thats not the issue. i am using stock volts and have upped it to 1.5 and get no better stability. if i use a higher fsb with 1.55 volts i cannot even get into windows, it just re-posts over and over again.

using stock hsf temps are great, never going over 50C on load.

i get ocasional lock-ups and studders. i am assuimng its the powersupply, a dynex 500 watt i got at bestbuy for 30 dollars.

Lower the HT multiplier to 3X and see if it works better.

perhaps DFI board itself needs a bit more juice? Have you tried upping board voltage as well?

Are you using SATA ports 1 or 2? Not sure about the DFI NF3 board, but some boards unlock the first 2 SATA ports and instability starts showing up around 235-240 HTT.

Try SATA ports 3 and 4 -- those are usually locked.

Nice. Now just keep on going.

I had a Sempron 3100+ with the DFI NF3 250GB board, and it ran at 325x8.

Awesome. I always forget about the SATA not being locked on some boards because I'm mostly using EIDE since in past couple of years most hot deals have been on EIDE drives. Let us know how high you can push that baby!

You should be able to get it to 275 fsb for 2.2 GHz. My Sempron 2800+ will run at 2.4 Ghz and pass all benchmarks and works fine in all games. All games, except Oblivion. At 2.4 GHz, Oblivion will crash every 20 minutes or so. At 2.3 Ghz, everything is fine. I did have to loosen my memory timings a little. I now use software (clockgen for NForce4) to lower my speed before playing oblivion.

I didn't know about the SATA issue - good to know.
