Hello,

I am thinking of getting a Sempron 2800+ Mobile CPU.

First - Is this 64bit capable? I dont think it is, but wanted to make sure.
Second - Can this be used on a Socket 754 Mobo with a normal HSF?

From the pictures I have seen online, it looks like a Socket A CPU and I am afraid a normal HSF that I would usually use for a Socket 754 Desktop Sempron might crush the Mobile chip.

Anyone know if this can be done and what the overclockability is? Also anyone know of any reviews on this? I tried Google for this and didnt come up with anything.

Thanks

Ok, First off. It should work with almost any socket 754 mobo but it will NOT work with just any heatsink. The cpu is a little shorter (like 1/16 of an inch or so) than normal K8s with the IHS so you have to make sure you have contact. Secondly, any reason why you are thinking of getting this at all? Mobile Semprons are pretty much the same as regular semprons (they both have the 62W rating), unless you mean the Semprons for thin and light notebooks.

Yes it is for the light and thin notebooks, so i think it is the 25W Sempron chips.

There is a good deal on one so i might want to get it, but i am not sure how it will be mounted and what HSF needs to be used to mount it

you should be fine; just make sure you get a heatsink that goes all the way to the core, since there's no IHS
