Sempron 3300+ upgradable to Turion X2?

I was wondering if it's possible at all for me to swap out the Sempron and upgrade it to a Turion X2 (ideally)...i.e. if BIOS updates are necessary, and whether HP/Compaq whitelists unspported processors at all like they do with WiFi mPCI cards.


Also is Turion X2 available yet?

Never mind, a bit googling reveals that they're on different sockets.

Turion 64 would be a nice upgrade (non-x2). They come in S754.

They arn't cheap though.

That MT-37 looks nice....1mb cache (instead of 512k), and 25w (compared to 35w).
