Sempron 3100

Recently installed a sempron 3100+ with a soltek sl-k890-754G. updated bios to reflect the new E core. Currently running xp pro with 1 Gb PC3200 (corsair xms).

Windows and CPU-z both show I am running at 1.2 Ghz with a 133.3 FSB.

Bios shows FSB should be at 200 which would bring it up to it's factory 1.8 Ghz settings.

Not really interested in overclocking, just want it to work properly.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try reset the cmos/bios right on your motherboard and see what happens.

I have reset the bios twice due to system crashes trying to overclock.

My first thought was do you have PowerNow enabled, but that affects the multiplier, not the HTT. For example, my 3000+ (1.8 GHz w/ 9X multiplier) downclocks to 1.0 with a 5x multiplier. The HTT stays the same at 200 MHz. CPUz shows the difference. Windows always shows 1.8 GHz no matter what.

Do you have the latest version of CPU-Z?
