Does anyone know why the cost of the OEM Spempron 3100+ jumped up 26.00 bucks this weekend? Is there a shortage? I thought AMD was going to release the new Semprons soon anyhow... Just wondering.

Maybe becasue the 3100+ compares to the AMD 64bit processors, and such a high demand for them? Not to mention they OC REALLY good.
 
Because it was selling for less then the high end Athlon XP's and it's a much better processor than them.

Bingo. I think a lot of people (like me 🙂 ) jumped on them as soon as they hit $99 after seeing how they OC. I'm very pleased with mine so far. 🙂
 
I figured. Well, I hope they go back down (not likely) as I was a few weeks away from a upgrade. Damn capitalism.

initially a lot of us enthusiasts were laughing at the Sempron, but it has turned out to be a rock solid processor with great price😛erformance ratios.

Newegg is good at doing this. If a product gets good reviews or a lot of people buying it, they jack up the price. You can buy this same Sempron for $5 less at Zipzoomfly.

I don't blame them either. I just wanted the best deal. I'm sure it will drop in a few weeks. I can wait. I'll buy my hard drive first, lol

haha, I was just about to say newegg has them oem for $97, well at least they did a half hour ago. Its back up to $120 now.
