Sempron 3100+ or amd 64 754 3000+?

Now YES I DO KNOW THAT 3000+ PERFORMS BETTER THAN 3100+! BUT...3000+ combo will cost me $60 more than 3100+ combo so if theres not much of a difference than I wanna go with 3100+ combo and get a nice videocard.

Basically what I am asking is...should I go with 3100 combo with 9700 pro or 3000+ combo with like 9500 or the like?

how bout 3000+ and a 9500 that is guranteed to flash to 9700?($50-75 used)

i would choose 3100+ and 9700 pro instead of 3000+ and 9500 (if those are your only two choices, the 3100/9700 would be faster in gaming.) maybe consider a 6600 GT for $185? i dont know what your budget is.

Along the lines of what SonicIce said, if you are ok with rebates, this 6600gt for $158 is a great deal.

You probably won't notice a difference between the two chips......the only disadvantage of the Sempron is the x64 support
