My sons 2100+ Xp was toasted by a cheap tigerpro PSU in a case I bought so I went to Fryes and all they sell now is the Semprons...
I picked up the 2400+...
It says 1.67ghz which is less then the 2100+'s 1.733ghz...How does the rating work and is this a cache limited duron or does it compare to the XP or Tbred like the 2100+ was???
I notice in sandra it relates pretty close to a 2000+ xp since the pseed is similar..So where does AMD justify the 2400+ rating??? what are its strengths....
The thing ran hot 50c with TIM and retail cooler...Then I placed it in the case and switched the side case fan to an intake and whola!!! 44c idle...
Also this thing has a short swing which may be testiment to the low watts of heat produced...I primed it andFH it at 50c idle and it never went over 58c....Now it gets to 52c which I feel is fine for his use....

I have a 5200 Nvidia is this but should I just throw my older AIW 8500 Radeon in there for him...We run NFS underground at medium settings at 1000res setting just fine....Or sell the Radeon 8500???
