Sempron 2200+ or Athlon XP 2000+?

I don't know which one to get for my budget pc. Can anyone lend my some advice on whether which one is better. All I know is that the sempron is clocked at a lower frequecy (1.5ghz) but has 333FSB. The athlon xp 2000+ has a frequency of 1.7ghz but only 266FSB. Anyone ?

The XP 2000+ is better for sure and it's very likely a T-Bred B and should thus easily overclock to about 2800+ at 333FSB.

it's dumb. along with intel's, nvidia's, and ati's. higher number does NOT = better necessarily. marketing at its finest.

True, FSB isn't everything look at p4 with 400,533,and 800 FSB and all it did was boost memory bandwidth

As I have stated many times Semprons "PR" is compared to "CELERON" and the XP's "PR" is to "P4".

That is why a Sempron with a higher "PR" is slower than a XP with a "PR" that is lower. Its very simple.

The Sempron's are all either Thoroughbred "B" or Thorton, which is the Barton core. I had a Sempron 2200+ (1.5ghz) and that thing would OC like crazy. I got the FSB up to 235mhz until my memory wouldn't go any further. And that was on STOCK Voltage. So, about 2.2ghz on stock voltage. Not to shabby 🙂

But if you are not going to OC, then get the XP since it has a higher mhz. So, it will be alittle bit faster than the lower clocked Sempron.
