180 Voodoopower for GTX 580 times 50% = 270 Voodoopower!!!!!!!!

Plus a conservative 15% efficiency with "hyperthreading" means 270*1.15 = 310 Voodoopower!

I love Voodoopower!! It's the best chart on the internetz

I think you complain more than my wife, mother, and everyone here on this forum. You must have a really, really crappy life to whine so much.

And yet my wife is amazing and I never feel like she complains, same goes for my mother. Crappy indeed......

I don't know man, there is just a metric ton of angst in here.

Bringing people's wives/moms/whatever into things doesn't help. ;)

I think the angst is over price/performance hardly moving on 28nm so far. Imho, that angst is best directed at TSMC for screwing up two consecutive nodes if rumors are true that TSMC paused 28nm production due to unspecified problems. We all know what TSMC's 40nm problems did to GPU prices.

If those "paused production" rumors aren't true, then that probably means that there is a major 28nm shortage (I've heard that Apple in particular is hogging TSMC 28nm wafers) and the GPU makers are dealing with high wafer costs and passing the costs along to consumers. Not sure who to blame then, but I don't use Apple products so I am happy to talk trash about Apple. :)

LOL.

Also, don't see much point in this thread because the original post turned out to be completely fake.

Not if it'll be $299, as FUaD is speculating today (here's the link again): http://www.fudzilla.com/home/item/26310-nvidia-aims-for-record-quarter

That would wipe AMD into oblivion!!! And I don't think the anti-monopoly police would care to look into this issue.

waste of bandwidth jpg

What kind of person ignores half the forum and then takes the time out of their life (and I use the term "life" loosely) to screenshot it and then cackle about it? That should tell you a lot about the value they add to a forum. As an adult, I have zero people on my ignore list.

Reading comprehension fail. It's saying the 680 is a mid range card that would usually sell for up to $299. But since it beats a 7970 they are pricing it at $550 and nvidia should have one of their best quarters ever.

When you're not banned, you spend way more time in Nvidia/Kepler threads than you do playing with your hd7970. That speaks volumes.
Never been banned actually, but your consistent ad hominems do speak volumes to me as well as the mods. I've said this in other threads and I'll repeat it here - taking out your disappointment on other members of the forum is not appropriate. If you can't conduct yourself as a contributing member, don't post.

I thought the GTX 680 was rumored to be roughly as fast as a HD 7970 (stock vs. stock). I just can't see Nvidia, even when pissed off about market share, undercutting AMD that much, if those performance rumors are true... unless that performance was reached by pre-overclocking the card, so to speak, leaving the 680 with less headroom than the 7970.

I don't think ABT is a shill site, Apoppin's head just assploded when he didn't get a free card to review and hasn't been the same since. I don't know if that's a reflection of the entire site and don't really feel it is.

I just stopped over there, I really should stop, and they seem to be complaining about having to buy an HD 7970 to review. Wow, can that guy whine anymore?

I wouldn't call him a shill, but he definitely isn't very professional. I guess his whining wasn't loud enough since he still hasn't gotten a review sample.

Guess only way they review stuff if it's free.

If they have the best single GPU card, they'll do well, but if they don't have anything ready to go for the $200 - $350 range they won't do that well. Hell, even if AMD were pricing lower like they did with the 5000 and 6000 series, nVidia would still price high if they had the best card. The only thing that's changed this time around is that AMD has decided to price high.

What if these high prices are the result of high 28nm wafer costs that affect both companies negatively? I don't think AMD exactly wanted to price things that high but did so because they had so few GPUs to sell anyway, thanks to low 28nm yields.
