Semi-wireless LAN party?

I need to set up a simple LAN for eight machines, four permanent(wired) & up to four wireless temporary. Prefer on the relatively cheap side, but willing to pay for stablility/speed. The wireless machines coming in will all be b/g compliant.

Is there a one box does it all solution? I have a wired four port router for the permanent four machines already in place, but would like to have only one router if possible?

Linksys WRT54G will do exactly what you want. It's a 4 port router with built in B/G Wireless. Has tons of features, very reliable. Mine has been up for 3 months or so without a reboot.

Thanks, Crusty, the Linksys WRT54G is what some other friends suggested as well, and it's within the budget, to boot!

Now if there were only a way to convince my ISP that this weekend would be a bad time to be stingy with the wireless bandwidth!?

Cheers

ISP? wireless bandwidth?

If it's a LAN party with LAN-only gaming, wireless bandwidth is limited by your router choice, not by your ISP.
