Cell phones, Sound systems, Cigarettes, Food should all be illegal for drivers to use in the car. Period, no question about it

It's a fact that drivers who are distracted behind the wheel cause more crashes Text. The same applies to other distracting activities.

Look I don't care what people do with their own lives, but on the road a distracted driver can kill innocent mothers, grandmothers, and children. I'm sure whatever song/conversation the driver is listening to is more important than our safety.

Who is more important to you? Her or him?

While I'm sure some responsible drivers use bluetooth headsets and listen to acceptable music, the fact remains that most people don't.

By banning these horrible distractions we can save lives. And as moral posters who place life above your own enjoyment I'm sure you will agree with me. To not agree with me is saying that you're ok with innocent people dying.

Thank you,

Simple answer: not everyone believes the distractions are dangerous, and even more believe the danger does not outweigh the ability to do other things while driving.

If it costs a few lives so that I can listen to Franz and talk on the phone on the way to work, then that's how it's gotta be. I think it's a fair system, I enjoy using these things in my car, and in exchange I expect I may be killed by someone else distracted by the same things.

It's a fact that all the activities I listed distract drivers.

Search this website if you need proof.

And if you're implying that it's more important to talk on a cell phone than be safe you're a terrible person.
I'm not implying anything, I'm just stating the belief system that results in Congress not doing what you propose.

meh, I have my stereo cranked most the time, I have to, otherwise I am annoyed by the rest of people out here playing their music. at least we know each other are there and we here one another coming. and when the government takes away my right to listen to music at any time, that is when this country has sunk to the lowest level

Sure, lets ban that, and then drinking coffee, eating, talking to the person in the back seat, reading a map and driving etc. etc. etc.888888888888888888888888888

Listen jerk, there is an economic need for America to drive. How does talking on a cell phone apply to any of that.

I bet you're against drunk driving laws.

Where is your statistical analysis that shows that only drivers with these items cause wrecks?

Where is the proof that all drivers, regardless of driving habits, skill and ability, succumb to these as distractions?

Yeah, find that information or shut up.

It's all about the driver, not what is in their car. Put the blame in the right place.

And if you want to get into the nitty-gritty... are you going to ban truckers from having their CBs?

I'm often labeled the 'moral' poster and I think you should move to an island where you're no longer a threat to humanity. :D
