I went, and there was about 250 people, if not alot more, waiting to get in. about 10 to 7, some people started a new line. made the big mob mad, and as we were all shoving in, someone shouted "Pricks on the left" lol. I went to get my card, and someone put a Ti500 infront :| so I moved that, and took the last one :)

Ugh. As a lot of you not on the west coast are getting back from your stores, and the ones on west coast are heading to and are at their stores, I'm sitting on my computer. I'm thinking about going to sleep now... Hmm, that means I've only been up for 9 hours. I got up at 8pm. :)

My BB did not have any GF3 in stock at all (i was 2nd in line!), so the 15 minimum is totaly BS, your mileage may vary... but of course, i had bought mine last week and got a pricematch done this morning... ;)

I did not even try to park! What a mess. I saved my time and sanity, came home and got the same deal online. I have waited this long, couple of more days won't hurt, and will not have to fight (ugh!) people to get my G3 at this great price! BB online just posted the rebate form for this card!

For those of you who were in front of the line, what time did you get there?

It was a nightmare! For everyone else of course. I walked to the return desk at 7:30 am and was 4th in line (compared to about 300th in all the other lines). Armed with only my receipt I told them the particular item I bought last sayurday was now on sale. She refunded my card and re-rang it at the new price and gave me the rebate slip. I said thank you and cut through the masses of non-anandtechers and came home. No camping and no waiting in line. I now officially own my geforce3 ti200 at a new and lower price of $149 that is soon to be $99 when I get my rebate. Thanks to all my fellow anandtechers.:D:p

I was 10th in line, no GF3's.

Worse than the fact that scam artists ruined this sale ahead of time is the fact that it took 35 min. just to get out of the store, and I wasn't buying anything! They had all the exits taped/blocked off - I thought about just crashing through, but the guys were bigger than me and I'm 6'2 1/2", 215 # (well, maybe 220 after yesterday ;)).

BB knows what has been happening with these deals, ie. people buying ahead. The store mgr. admitted as much, but said there wan't anything they could do to stop it. BS.

Zonon: NOT, as in not on-line for that price. Well, it wasn't when you first posted, then a couple minutes ago I finally got it to come up on the BB site. Rebate form was not coming up either, now it is.

Strange days ...

Got to BB in Montclair, CA at 5:55am. Dozens of die hards were camped out from hours ago. Must have been at least 100 people and growing. The line extended around the building and along the outer fence. Came home to see how others did, now for some sleep...

Well, I drove by at 7AM Morse Rd, Columbus. Line was all the way to Joanne, about 300 yards and looked like 500 people. I went to Target. Went back to BB at 7:20 AM. Non on the shelf, then I started to look behind things, hehe. Didn't find anything. Walked by the computer sales desk, they had an odd number of them, 13 or 15. I asked for one, got it and bought it. I'll just return it later today on the old reciept. My experience with BB has been excedingly poor, hence, I didn't have faith that I could do the return/rebuy (which was plan B). I'm glab I have a $99 bleeding edge (beat by just one card) GF3.

Good luck

There were easily 1,000 people in line here in Lexington, KY. Since all I had to do was get a pricematch on the card I just went across the street to Target and got a couple presents and snagged the $33 HP printer.

I went back, showed the recipt, was handed $53 cash and a rebate slip. A couple people even asked me if I knew if there were any cards left, I told them I got it last week and was pricematching, I was a god among nerds today.

I did the store pick-up just to for the experience and $7 cheaper! Besides my time and sanity is well worth $50 even if I did not get the rebate! I bet most who tried to save the $50 and failed(or even got one) will not be happy to see it all could have been done OUR way!!

NOW get this!:Q I just got confirmation that I could PICK-UP my G3:Q at the store anytime! Did they hold back for online ordering?? I expected to have to wait for another shipment?? I am going to wait until later to try to pick it up;) This should be interesting!

I got to BestBuy at NJ at 6:30 AM. Line was unbelievably long ( about 150 or so people in front of me). Anyway thanks for the the guy who originally posted the sale. I was able to buy the GF3 card online Sunday and picked it up today. They instantly pricematched to $99; no rebate needed to send for the additional discount.

Got to Best Buy in Houston at about 6:05 am. Deliberately went to a crappy Best Buy, figuring nobody would want the GF3 in the 'hood.

I was in line, about 150 yards deep, got in, and snagged the last GF3. :D
Also got the WD 60 GB for $50 AR.

It was a good morning!

I will be putting the GF3 in the new rig shortly. Looks like a nice card.

MidnightRambler,

In the time it took you to trash the people for buying their cards early, you could have ordered the card from the Web site. I just woke up at 9:20 A.M this morning - glad I missed that nightmare at the stores.

I *could* have gotten the GF3 at the Scranton, PA BB, but since I currently have a laptop that 3 years ago cost more than most houses, I'm not planning on building myself a new computer for at least another semester. And the computers I built for my sister and parents over the summer have GF2 MX's which is plenty for them. So *instead* I ran like mad for the 60GB hd which I figure at $50 will still be a good deal a year from now, whereas 6 months from now, when I'm building my new computer, video cards will probably be better and cheaper....well at least better. I also snagged 2 sticks of the 256mb ram. Sweet.

The way to go was to buy early, if you didn't do that you only have yourself to blame. I was in that zoo for five minutes got my $$$$$$$$$ and my new receipt, and rebate:) Anandtech Forums RULE:)

Let alone the rebate, I cant even find the product online. Can you please tell where to buy the product from? Also where is the rebate online? Links would be helpful.
Thanx

So you think it is right for them to allow people to do this? If they didn't know it was happening, that would be one thing, but BB actually seems to think it's funny or something, at least my local mgr. has that attitude. Also, you seem to overlook that their ad says they will have "min. of 15 per store", which is where BB loses their arguement. Though it's not all BB's fault ... the greedy people who buy stuff ahead of time are as much to blame (note: even if I had wanted to stoop to that, I couldn't have, not a single store within 2hrs. of me had any of them in stock before hand, inventories of all stores in my area were posted here ahead of time).

BTW, don't get your hopes up on the card you ordered via BB.com. You're not getting one. It was a mistake that the item was even put up on the site. I ordered one myself, about 8:55. I got a cancellation notice and called to see why.

The item it still up on the site, but it says not taking orders ...
