just saw an ad for my local pic&save (i live in southern california) for imation cdrs w/ jewel case 4x 74min/650mb at 29 cents each.

i'm not sure if this is a hot deal but i think its worth it since i only have a 4x writer.
also not sure if its available nationwide.

hope it helps. :)

A better deal is to get a 50 spindle of PNY 700 meg 12x cdrs at best buy, staples, or buy.com. All have coupons available now that bring the price way down.

Pic & Save? Hmm.. I saw the same thing for sale here, at a store called Big Lots. Must be the same chain. (Tampa FLorida)

well... i bought many spindles of cdr at 12x. those are all great deals. but what really is hot about this deal is that the jewel case is included. the imation slim jewel cases are actually pretty expensive. so if you think of it that way, this could be a pretty good deal.

No question, this is a hot deal for CDR's with jewel cases.

However, spend just a bit more and you can get high-speed, super-high-quality Kodak CDR's with jewel cases at bestbuy.com during free shipping..... I got a few 20 packs for $10-something each.

My wife bought me several of the Imation cds at Big Lot yesteday. I tried one on an 8x burner and it worked fine, but no guarantee all will. She went nuts and got me 50 at the .29 @ price, so I have lots to use.

I have also been able to overburn Imation CDR. I have burned 8X at 12X with no problems. Good find. Ape Out.

MontyBurns....I tried to find the kodak cdrs at bestbuy.com and couldn't find them. When did you order? Can you point me to the url for them? I've been looking for a good deal on the kodak brand! thanks, vroom1018

MontyBurns...thanks for the info about the kodak cdrs at buy.com...i just ordered 5 packs to take advantage of the free shipping. btw, about a week ago buy.com had the kodak gold ultimas in a 200 pack for $138 (or around that) and was waiting for the free shipping, but they no longer carry them! They also had a 200 pack of the kodak regular ultimas (silver) for $80something and no longer carry them now either! But the 20 packs are a good deal too (altho they're not the gold ones...i assume). vroom

vroom: Probably too late, but they DO have the gold versions for about $4 more a 20 pack. Honestly, I think that's overkill... the silver ultimas are fantastic. But even for the gold ones it's still a good deal with jewel cases.

So these are good then? What's the difference between "silver" and "gold"? I've got some 8x imation's and they're definately "green".

The "silver" and "gold" we were talking about applied to the Kodak brand.

Allegedly, the gold is better, and Kodak has all kinds of impressive statistics to back this up. Just a ploy to get another $5 out of you, I say. The silver are just fine.

You can get 20 imation 4x 74min cdrs for free (with mail in rebate) from outpost.com...or at least you could a couple of weeks ago. (also free overnight shipping)

To get twenty you need to order 4 5packs, you can only get four rebates.
