Yea, I take that route to go to the gym late at night all the time. It happened at 2am and usually I come back from the gym right then, on saturday nights no less.

Only reason I didnt go that night was because my friend fell asleep early..

Another senseless tragedy.

RIP Cara Lee. Sorry for your loss OP.

I wonder how drunk this fucker was?

Wow man. My condolences to you and her family. That's a tough loss, especially for one so young. I feel for the other driver, she has got to be feeling terrible right now. Send her some flowers and a note letting her know it wasn't her fault. She's gonna need it.

The collision killed Cara A. Lee, 20, of Santa Ana, who was the front passenger in Nguyen's car. She was pronounced dead at the scene, Costa Mesa police Lt. Bryan Glass said.

Nguyen was taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana with minor injuries, authorities said. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and was released from custody at the hospital.

Gustavo A. Vega, 22, of Costa Mesa, driver of the Toyota truck, was arrested at the scene of the collision.

Vega was booked at the Orange County Jail on suspicion of murder, vehicular manslaughter, felony DUI, felony injury hit-and-run and possession of a controlled substance, Glass said.
Both drivers were drinking? 😕

In the ideal world, it'd be the drunk driver that dies, but it's always the person being ran into that dies.

Sorry for your loss. R.I.P.

I'm not reading that at all. I only see a reference to one drunk driver.

Says the driver[Nguyen] of the car was taken to the hospital where he was arrested on suspicion[so he might not have] of DUI and was released. Couple paragraphs later says the driver of the Toyota[Vega] arrested for felony DUI.

The Toyota Tundra hit the Toyota Corolla.

Cheers,
Aquaman
