selling stuff in Maple Story?

My teen-age son asked if he could use my pay-pal account because he was selling some things from Maple Story that he has accumulated. I got a paypal reciept that said he had been paid

$250.

Is this outrageous? Has he ripped off some unsuspecting other player, or do people understand what they are doing? I was under the impression that Maple Story was some kid's game, but he tells me that it's not.

Do I need to go parent-kamakazi on him and actually check the logs on his internet access, contact the person sending him money and stuff like that, or is this normal behavior?

Help. PS I get a cut, of course. I don't let him use my pay pal account for free 😀 .

I dont think you need to contact the person sending him money, its already been sent. There are some really stupid people out there who play these mmo's and will pay lots of money for game items. I remember selling my crappy account in daoc for 400 bucks because some spoiled kid got his parents to pay for it. I didnt know people were willing to pay this much for maple story stuff but apparently someone did.

How old is your son anyway and how much does he play?

It's not uncommon for kids to get ahold of their parents credit cards to buy highly priced digital items. Personally, I've made around $400 from Diablo II.
