Selling speakers on Audiogon is so frustrating

My first time selling (bought a few times) speakers on Audiogon. I now know that I should've kept the price the same after I relisted my speakers, seeing as how no matter how much lower the price people will always lowball you.

I'm selling a pair of Dynaudios and I've watched how much they've listed for for a few years now. The whole process seems about the same as Craigslist. I'm very happy that I'll be going DIY for my next step as I know I won't get any money out of the speakers if I ever want to sell them. 😛

did you list them on AVS? ive had much better luck just letting them sit there vs audiogon

but that's highly dependent on what you are trying to move I guess

I did initially...haven't been too good on bumping the thread as I wasn't sure what the rules are.

The speakers are Dynaudio Contour S1.4...I'm waiting to see what Erich rolls out for his next wave wave of DIYSG speakers. The 1099 probably would've been enough but I want to mitigate "upgrade-itis" as much as possible. Hopefully some higher end models come out soon, but not necessarily larger speakers. The Maximus is just too big. His high-end coaxials are intriguing...I've had a decent amount of time listening to Zu and KEF speakers to know that I like the idea.

I've never really thought about selling my speakers. I bought them and if anything they are still doing a great job they were employed for. If anything, I wish I could get some smaller versions to add to the current setup.

Well, just found out that I'll be away from home for 5 weeks starting Tuesday so it looks like I'll be holding on to the speakers a little longer. 😛
