Make your own site, set up payment portal (some forum and CMS implementations make it easy).

Your best bet would be to get it on as many auction sites and marketplaces that allow e-books, in addition t your own site.

If you can get your book published physically and professionally, even with a small publisher, you have a better chance of selling ebook version online at retailers like Amazon and getting listed on websites with book information. Plus the obvious benefits of promoting the book. You could still do this yourself by self publishing and going to a book distributor expo (like the annual on eat Jacob Javits center) and handing out copies (could even do CD/cheap USB copies...get creative). I'm guessing you already know all this, but thought I would share.

There seem to be lots of people who automatically have their ebooks posted on ebay and then automatically email the book to you when you pay. Not sure how it works though.

my book is very small, just an informational packet of 21 pages. i was just reading something on self-publishing and it seems affordable (maybe $200), but i wasn't sure if anyone would buy a paperback book of only 21 pages :p i'll give it more thought.

Leros - i'll have to look into how to do that on ebay because that would be very convinient. which reminds me, i need to update my paypal account information... they still use paypal right? i heard not so good things about paypal though.

thanks for the responses so far!

I've done it before. Quite easy, and a way to build feedback quick for both buyer/seller. Sell cheap as possible ($1 by PayPal, IIRC, it's been a while).

I guess ebook only and maybe self publishing later is better if it's only 21 pages.

PayPal stinks for a lot of reasons (fees, poor support for sellers, etc), but you would probably face less trouble for cheap item like ebook (not physical = less trouble, usually) and on ebay it would be mistake to not use it as main option.
