I've been a longtime seller on eBay and Half.com (in and out of power seller status a few times now) and i've been unhappy with the recent changes and increased fees.

Been exploring other options and wanted to see what the opinion was of those who have sold on Amazon, as it seems to be the biggest competitor to the eBay/Half market.

I read if the customer demands a return and refund, you must comply or else amazon will cut you. That's better than shopping at Costco.

More fees and more demands with less customer service.

Higher customer base but less promotion opportunities.

better if you're selling items with low turnover due to no listing fee.

At the risk of sounding like an eBay fanboy, I researched Amazon too but decided to stick with the evil empire.

I had very modest sales this month, but was happy to see eBay cut me a 15% discount on my monthly fees for being a PowerSeller. That easily negated the few extra dollars I was paying in fees.

It seems like the new eBay policies are MAINLY detrimental for sellers who were not PowerSellers; if you are an PowerSeller, eBay is offering new fee discounts, more seller protection, and other helpful policy changes (for example, getting all listing upgrade fees refunded *in addition* to insertion fees if an item has a non-paying bidder).

Unfortunately I stay just below the powerseller line, so I usually get into powerseller status for 3 or so months a year, then it lapses for another 8-10 months.

I guess part of my problem with Half.com right now, is the extreme lag in posting products.

For instance, I listed 4 items for sale nearly 3 hours ago, not a single one shows up in my inventory, nor on the product page for sale.

Anyone else notice this?

I've not listed anything on half.com in a year or so, but I only use them for textbooks. Everything else, I like the idea of being able to clear inventory at a set time.
