Hi. This is my 1st time selling a product on eBay.

Basically. I'm selling my 'Nintendo 3DS XL Pika Pika edition'

I have some questions before I list it on eBay. (These may be some dumb questions, but whatever)

-What packaging do I need for this? Do I need a BOX to fit my 3DS XL in?
-Do I need bubble wrap?
-What happens if the buyer disputes and stating the item did not arrive? If that's the case, should I post in with tracking number? Will that even matter? Who will win the case? I have tracking number etc so will the case be on my side or the buyer? sorry if im confusing you.

Really appreciate some help. Easy, simple questions to buyers here :D

video of it working and condition on youtube and put it on the ebay page.

photos of serial numbers and every angle you can think of.

photos of tracking numbers with the days newspaper.

don't sell to 0 feedback bidders.

make sure you email the winner every step of the way.

or make it easy and sell it on craigs list.

just meet up at a police station.

Tracking and insurance for sure. If you can prove that it was delivered ebay should be on your side. Just be very honest with your description and pictures and if the winner has good feedback it shouldn't be a problem.

Always start the bid low like 0.99.

As for shipping, a large padded envelope is the best way to go. Ship the item insured so you're covered either way.

Make sure the listing settings filters out of country bidders and 0 feedback bidders.

Others have addressed your other questions, but I'm pretty sure price check is still not allowed in AT forums. Unless that has changed recently.

Anything with significant value and demand, I start for $0.01 and let the auction run for 1 week. I try to time it to end on Sunday night 12AM Eastern, 9PM Pacific.

If I don't botch the photos and description, I'll get exactly what it's worth (it's worth what people are willing to pay).

All the early bidders basically become watchers and you end up with a whole bunch of bidders competing at the end.

Oh ok.I have one last question. Can I refuse to give the winning bidder the item? I mean once they win they probally instantly going to pay right?

Yes you can. You'll have to refund any payment right away and could potentially face bad feedback though.

Geez don't put it in a padded envelope if it's something you are worried about. I bought a $300 non electronic item from someone on ebay a few weeks ago and they stuffed it in a padded envelope and it was destroyed. Not the post office's fault, the seller should have put it in a box. I got my full money back and the the cost to ship it back.

Put it in a box, insure it for full value, make sure you get signature verification when it arrives. Take all pictures, record serial number.

Be aware that eBay will always side with the buyer, so even 6 months down the road if it stops working the person can reach back to eBay and get a refund and you'll be out the money and the item.

Personally I'd put a for sale post up here, and or try Craigslist. Both are free and you're not out anything beyond your time of posting it up for sale doing that.

Yes. You should put insurance on the item; however, insurance claims won't care if the packaging sucks. In other words, if you put an item in shoddy packaging and it gets ruined, it's your fault regardless of whether or not it was insured because I guarantee that they will deny the claim once they see the photos.

Also, you can cheat like I do and use plastic grocery bags as packaging material. They work very well as a cushion, and you probably have a bunch lying around. I've used them for dozens of packages, and I've never had a complaint.

If the item is of significant value, then you should add a signature service to your delivery. This usually costs extra, but it's a good way to ensure that someone at that address got the package. I've really only ever used this for phones and I think a video card, but I do also make it very clear in the auction's description that I require a signature upon delivery.

If that's the case, should I post in with tracking number?

Tracking numbers should be entered into eBay after the label is created. If you create the label through eBay, this will be done automatically. Note, when I say "should", I mean you really, really should do it, because if you don't give eBay the tracking, you may not qualify for Seller's Protection.

My last packing job:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoAqNiaWRZ8

iPhone in sealed freezer bag, wrapped in plastic cling wrap to a perfectly sized piece of cardboard, secured with tape, placed on a 1" layer of cellophane padding in a USPS medium flat-rate box, hard plastic Spigen case package adds rigidity to the box, then remaining space filled with puffy air cushions.
