Topic title pretty much says it. I have a computer that is almost 3 years old now, and just bought a laptop. I need to sell my desktop now, and was just about to throw it on eBay, but I am afraid I won't get anything for it. I thought maybe I would get more out of it by selling the parts separately. I'll post the specs here and let me know what you think would be best.

Antec Aria Cube Case
Antec 300W PSU
Gigabyte MicroATX Socket 939 Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ CPU
2 x 512MB Corsair + 2 x 1024MB G.SKILL = 3GB RAM
ATI Radeon X800 GTO2 256MB (extra pipelines unlocked)
250GB SATA Seagate Barracuda HDD
Lite-On 16X DVD+/-RW Drive
Lite-On PS/2 Multimedia Keyboard
Logitech USB 3-Button Optical Mouse
Windows XP Media Center OEM (Disc + Key)

I figure that since the computer is not up to today's spec, people shopping for one will not want it and I may only get $100 for it. I don't want to sell it if that is all it will bring. But since people shop for parts all the time, and they typically sell for a fraction less than can be bought in online stores like Newegg, I could get something for the parts. Let me know what you think please. I don't want to rip anyone off, but also don't want to give the computer away. Thanks for your input.

Oh, and I would like to know... since the OS is OEM, does it need to stay with the motherboard?

You'll get more if it is parted out. This is almost always true with DIY systems. The opposite usually true with OEM systems.

For the speed of the sale, and to guarantee the sell of all components. Sell the system.
For getting the best price for each component, part it out. Some components will take some time to sell, others may not sell at all.
