Selling my old 1990 rx7 to my friend, how much should I ask for?

My friend wants to buy my 1990 rx7 that pretty much died in october 2003. I did a little bit of work to it, and actually had it running (was not idling at all though) earlier last year, but decided that it was too much of a hassle. So it is sitting in my friends yard under a tarp right now.

The motor is pretty old and I believe is shot unless the apex seals and springs are replaced. The body is in pretty bad shape, no rust but it needs a new windshield and drivers side window. The hood is in kinda crappy shape, has bumps and waves in it but it is not something that has to be had. The spolier is also in fair/bad shape. The inside really needs a good cleaning too. I am also not sure how long the transimission will last on it, but it was working fine for me. The only real new stuff it had was mufflers and a clutch.

My other friend as talking to me last night, and actually wants to buy the car from me. He says that he basically just wants a good drift car, and he knows someone that will help him with the engine swap. I told him everything I told yall, so how much should I charge him for the car?

Ugh. Why don't you just go and take a F1 car, and put a fvcking cavalier engine in it, while you're at it? The ENTIRE appeal of owning an RX-7 is that the Rotary engine is so unique and pownzor!

rotaries are cool

but the gigantic power of a big V8 is also cool

but the rotatry is really small and that counts for heaps.

Maybe he can fit 2 of those little rotaries in there?! That'd be cool.

The rotary engine is mainly a novelty. Practically speaking, it's an inferior design, with high specific fuel consumption, poor emissions, and prone to breaking.

That's why you see so many RX-7's in need of engines. Just like this one.

Is it the design or the implementation that's inferior? I understand that there are few moving parts within the engine itself, which I would think would be ideal.

The design in theory is good, but the apex seals are usually what give out on the rotors. Sometimes its just the springs behind the seals though, and that is not too hard to clean.

It is also hard to find people to work on rotary engines.

While it is very simple, it has 2 fatal flaws- one is that the design requires apex seals, which are very prone to blowing. The other is that the engine has poor thermal efficiency, which leads to poor fuel economy and emissions. This is because the combustion chamber is exposed to so much surface area of metal which cools down and wastes heat.

The average life of the 3rd gen RX-7 engine was only around 60k miles. The older ones lasted much longer, but still weren't as reliable as piston engines.
