Selling my car, need some input.

So, we're inheriting another vehicle (a loaded '95 Blazer for the curious) and my car is the one to go. Here are the vitals:

1995 Honda Accord EX Coupe
90,005 Miles
2.2L 4 Banger
5 Speed Tranny
Gray Cloth Interior
Eibach Sportline Springs, 1.7" drop in front, 1.8" in back
Random Technology High Flow Catalytic Converter
RS*R Stainless Steel Cat-back Exhaust
AEM Cold Air Intake
Brembo Cross-Drilled and Slotted Rotors in back
Tinted Windows, 35%

Cosmetically, the car is in great condition with a couple minor flaws. Someone keyed the passenger side door, 1 scratch approx a yard in length. There is also a small (2-3" in diameter) dent on the back of the trunk. 1 small ding in windshield, should be a quick Novus job. Overall, paint is in great condition. Interior is also in great condition with only normal wear. No major stains on seats or floor.

Mechanically, the car hasn't given me any major problems. I bought in jan of 2000 w/33k on it. Had the 60k service done at Honda at about 55k miles. Does have a recently rebuilt starter (I killed it from not closing my door all the way too many times, DOH) and could probably use a new battery. The one in there works fine, but if you leave the car on but not running for < 5 min, you're gonna need a jump. Tires on there are good, 40-50% tread left.

It is obviously due for the 90k service with the timing belt and water pump replacement. Good friend of mine went to high school with a guy who runs his own shop and is a Honda certified tech. He said he'd be more than happy to service the car for his cost on parts and cheap on the labor. He said $250 just for the 90k service, or $600 for the service + timing belt and water pump. Not bad, considering the dealership wanted $4-500 for the 90k service, then another $1000-1100 for the belt/pump.

Anyway, based on the pricing i've seen in the local paper and on Autotrader.com (zip 98012) I've been thinking of a price in the neighborhood of $8000 w/o the service and $8500 with the services done.

Any input is appreciated. 🙂

yeah those prices are probably fine, although if it was me buying it, i'd get it serviced myself rather than have some friend of the seller do it. 😉

He's a friend that runs a legit shop. Not just some guy I know with some tools.
