Selling land: BuyOwner (or equiv) or a realtor?

I have a lot down in Ocala, FL that I'm looking to sell. So far, the classic "slap a FOR SALE sign with my number on it" hasn't done much for me.

So now I'm looking into the other more realistic options. Question for all of you: Is BuyOwner, Assist2Sell, etc. any good? Or should I just flat out go talk to a realtor in the area? My main concern is that I live about 2 hours away from the area, and finding time to go out and look for a realtor would be a pain. Sure, I can just call realtors, but who do I call (who would actually work for me)?

Anyone with any insight on it, please drop in your opinions.

Actually, I am in the middle of selling a lot I own. I just did the for sale sign with my number. I signed an agreement of sale about 3 days after I posted it and then took about 1 or two calls a day for the next month. The agreement expired because the original party couldn't get financing. Lucky for me I had taken the names and numbers of all the other people that were interested, I started calling the people on the list and I am meeting one of them Thurs. to sign a sales agreement. He has the money, on hand, so financing is not a concern.(so he said)
One thing I would say about the whole thing so far, I know why people don't mind paying Realtors to take calls about a property. If it was a nice day on the weekend, I would get 5-10 calls from people out driving around.

It can be tough to find a good realtor but that is what I would recommend.

As the real estate market continues to cool homes will and are sitting on the market longer and will be harder to sell...unless they are priced too low of course. 😉
